For this Honors Sociology final project, I chose to discuss the act of bride kidnapping, a practice that occurs throughout many different societies where a man abducts the woman that he wishes to marry. Although this practice occurs in many different regions and cultures, the goal of this project is to discuss the differences in this ritual across the world while examining the beliefs and methods that led to the origin of this practice.
